We accelerate innovation around visualization
We develop new ways of visualizing, to help and strengthen work for a sustainable future, by running projects, gathering expertise and spreading knowledge. Visual Arena is a neutral platform that brings together actors from business, industry, universities and institutes, cities, regions, authorities for collaboration and projects that lead to new ways of visualizing to help and strengthen work for a sustainable future.
Examples of Visual Arena roles:
- We run project initiatives
- Project owner
- Project manager
- Work package manager
- Visualization expertise
Together with our partners and network, we capture needs and ideas that can lead to projects and in the long run to implementation in reality. Our work enables new, innovative visualization solutions that can help businesses and individuals in everyday life, enrich our way of expressing ourselves and has the potential of becoming a democratizing tool. Visualization eases understanding and creates power of change. We contribute to dissemination of research and benefit both companies and society. We offer a visualization environment and a meeting place where we gather, utilize and promote people's knowledge, new thinking and commitment.
"The best way to get high bandwidth between a human and the computer is to use visualization," said Anders Ynnerman during Visual Forum 2020. By visualization we mean a way of communicating, a tool that enriches our way of expressing ourselves and helps us to understand. Visualization can bridge barriers, simplify and clarify, create power of change, illustrate the thought and the measured, to name a few valuable qualities. We gather academia, business, public sector and citizens for new collaborations and projects to develop and disseminate knowledge.
We want to bring onboard Visual Arena partners from all over the country and strengthen our international alliances, so that we can create activities and projects that engage and affect more people.
Visual Arena is funded by the City of Gothenburg and the Västra Götaland Region, together with Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg. Visual Arena is run as a program within Lindholmen Science Park.
