Visual Arena announces new opportunity for creators to test VR concepts

During Västsvenska Filmdagarna, a film industry event held in western Sweden, Visual Arena announced its new Narrative VR Lab project, a development program designed to explore the narrative possibilities of virtual reality (VR) and test new, innovative ways of reaching audiences of drama enthusiasts.

In recent years, VR has grown into a potentially groundbreaking way of consuming moving images in the future. Writing for VR represents a challenge since it involves an entirely different way of writing than other forms of media. The big question is how do the results impact the user? VR users are no longer simply observers but rather part of the story itself.

During Västsvenska Filmdagarna (October 12-13), Visual Arena at Lindholmen Science Park announced the Narrative VR Lab project, a development project designed to explore the narrative possibilities of VR and test new, innovative ways to of reaching audiences of drama enthusiasts. The project is looking for people who not only wish to convey a powerful experience but also to tell a story. It will be up to the individual creator to decide how and in what genre.
