Digital city model 17th century

A collaborative project where you will develop a virtual model of Gothenburg from the 17th century. The purpose is to give a picture of what Gothenburg looked like in terms of urban development when the city was founded to create an understanding of history and why the city looks the way it does.

A collaborative project where you will develop a virtual model of Gothenburg from the 17th century. The purpose is to give a picture of what Gothenburg looked like in terms of urban development when the city was founded to create an understanding of history and why the city looks the way it does. The result should be a realistic 3D model that can be used in several different ways, e.g. projected as a movie on a screen or as a virtual model, the model can also be uploaded to the web.

The goal is to develop a virtual model of Gothenburg from the 17th century. The model may become an important part of identity creation and Gothenburg's 400th anniversary in 2021.

The first step is delivery to the City Museum in the form of an animated film with a ride through the city streets. The film is part of the exhibition Gothenburg's birth in the spring of 2017.

The 17th century model is a pilot project in a larger context. In the future, additional sub-projects can be started for additional centuries but also to be able to visualize communication, transport, education, etc. in the same model. To bring these areas into the model, collaborations can be started with different actors.
